Senior Front End Web Engineer – Santa Monica, CA, USA
Our client is seeking an experienced, best-in-class Senior Front End Web Engineer to join their team. The Senior Front End Engineer will be working closely with the UX/UI design team and Back End Engineers to efficiently serve pages to millions of people worldwide. The ideal candidate must be an independent, self-starter with the ability to leverage the latest web technologies with the understanding of how to negotiate with older browsers. Since work is on a high load/yield website, extensive knowledge in performance optimization is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- Experience with a JavaScript library (i.e. jQuery, YUI, ExtJS, Prototype)
- Experience in C/C++, Java, C#, and/or Python
- Strong Object Oriented Programming skills
- Extensive experience creating dynamic web pages using standards-compliant, cross-browser compatible HTML, CSS, JavaScript and/or a templating language.
- Knowledge in optimizing website performance
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment on multiple projects
- Passion for the web development and gaming
- 4-5 years of experience in web development
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Pluses:
- Basic proficiency with Photoshop
- Familiarity with internationalization and localization
- Experience with NoSQL databases (BigTable, Cassandra, HBase)
- Experience with relational databases (i.e. SQL, MySQL, Oracle, DB2)
