Technical Artist – Los Angeles, CA, USA
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Work closely with the art, engineering and animation teams to help bring an exciting and visually compellinglook to the title through technical ability
- Implement new technical methods to help increase quality and efficiency for studio pipelines
- Write tools as needed for the team and work on game debugging
- Perform character rigging
- Deliver high quality, bug free work often within aggressive deadlines
Required:
- Expert knowledge of Maya, Photoshop and After Effects with a deep understanding of fluid software
- Experience in C++, Visual Studio and UnrealScript
- Ability to work with complex shaders
- Strong optimization talents
- Unreal Engine 3 experience
- Excellent time management skills andan ability to succeed with minimal supervision
- Ability to be flexible within a very creative yet dynamic working environment
- Work successfully with multiple team members in an extremely collaborative environment, being flexible across multiple disciplines and assisting others wherever possible
- At least 2 years as a technical artist in the games industry, having shipped at least 1 title in that role
Preferred:
- Strong 2D artistic skills with strong 3D skills as an additional bonus
- A forward thinking approach to solving problems, able to arrive at unconventional solutions as needed
- A love of games with a true understanding of what helps to make them visually exciting and memorable, especially from a technical level
