Senior back end Web engineer – Santa Monica, CA, USA
Our Client is seeking an experienced, best-in-class Senior Back End Web Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate must have a background in design of consumer ecommerce or interactive websites. As part of the back-end team, this person is responsible for developing web services to enable highly available, customer facing web applications targeting game communities. The Senior Back End Web Engineer will work also with the Front End team and Designers to help define and scope appropriate services and their APIs, and contribute to implementation.
Requirements:
- Experience working on production high-load web services.
- 3+ years with web services (REST/XML-RPC/Thrift).
- Comfortable with Linux/UNIX, bash, Apache.
- Experience with C/C++, Python, and/or MySQL a plus.
- Experience working in a team environment on multiple projects.
- Passion for the web and games.
- Experience working in very high-load environments.
- Experience with Thrift, protocol buffers, map-reduce, NoSQL (bigtable, hbase, raik, redis, etc.).
- Experience developing & deploying with cloud providers (Rackspace, EC2).
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or similar.
