Lead Programmer – Novato ,CA, USA

Looking for an Lead Programmer. Someone with hands on management and leadership experience, who also knows how to run a meeting and handle a schedule. We need someone who is laid back and awesome too, but also understands that this is fast-paced environment where things can change quickly.

Responsibilities
- Works in partnership with the Technical Director and Executive Producer to manage the production schedule of the Engineering team
- Prepares and executes realistic project schedules for programming team including milestones and deliverables
- Represents the Engineering team to outside departments and parties
- Also generally provides a window into the Engineering department for outside groups
- Implements project tracking and scope management processes
- Oversees features for releases and milestones
- Proactively identifies risks associated with meeting project milestones; ensures necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties which may impede progress or compromise achievement of project’s objectives
- Manages and continues to improve the game development process
- Communicates regularly with team members to track the status of tasks and ensure deadlines are met
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with key project stakeholders and support teams throughout the studio to ensure achievement of project development milestones
- Removes barriers so that programmers and other team members can get their job done
- Ensures that the programming team has the mentoring and training to succeed
- Participates in interviewing and selecting new hires for the programming team as appropriate
- Writes internal documentation as necessary

Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to communicate technical information to people from various backgrounds.
- Ability to effectively and professionally present information and respond to questions from management, development partners, and employees.
- Minimum of eight years of related experience including professional game programming experience.
- Recent technical lead responsibility on at least one previous game published project for the current consoles.
- Experience in C/C++ programming, assembly language programming, multiple hardware platforms, 3D graphics, research and development, and management.
- Must have a strong foundation in Data Structures, Math, and Algorithms.
- Interest in multiple platforms beyond just the standard consoles
